AGRIKEXPO 2013 to showcase Nigeria as investment destination
AGRIKEXPO, an exhibition of agribusinesses, agric and agro-allied products will be showcasing Nigeria to the world as a welcome destination for agricultural investments. This was stated by Shettima Mustafa, the national president, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), while describing the forthcoming agricultural exhibition at a reception for the visiting team of the organisers headed by Ugo Nabuisi.
He said the Agrikexpo as an exhibition would help Nigeria, especially at this time that the nation is focused on the Agricultural Transformation Agenda, confirming that AFAN would be having a regional conference at the event as a way of bringing members up on new sources of inputs, latest technologies and research findings. During the conference, papers would be presented by various speakers with a focus on practical approach to the enhancement of agricultural productivity in Nigeria, even at the grassroots level.
In a separate development, Pat Utomi, a professor/public commentator on economic issues, described the event as the missing link in the agricultural development master plan. In his words, it is proof that the private sector is poised to partner government on economic development, by this vehicle of trade tourism. He encouraged government to give the expo the best support so that Nigeria as a country can tap into global synergies for economic development.
The three-day event, from July 11 – 13, will see great brands in agriculture in the exhibition showcasing new technologies for market and brand power, as the minister of agriculture, Akinwunmi Adesina is expected at the event.
