EU Nigeria Business Forum holds during Agrikexpo
European Union delegation to Nigeria/West Africa will be holding the Euro Nigeria Business Forum (ENBF) concurrently with the 2015 Agrikexpo which has become West Africa’s foremost in agri-business development.
According to Michel Arion, head of EU delegation, “The synchronisation of ENBF with Agrikexpo will go a long way in promoting synergies between European and Nigeria businesses.” Arion added, “European suppliers have an important role to play in providing the Nigerian food/manufacturing/agro industry with machinery, equipment and technical know-how, and are therefore pleased to support Agrikexpo.”
It could be recalled that at last year’s event where Theodore Orji, former governor of Abia state, was special guest of honour, he stated “Agrikexpo/Foodbext exhibition is a highly commendable forum for agribusiness development, and the participation of the state is such a great opportunity to attract investors from all over the world as areas of need in agri-investment are showcased.”
In his words, it was an opportunity that led to the initiation of several useful relationship between Abia state and many foreign investor in agriculture.
Also, various representatives from Ekiti, Niger, Lagos and Akwa Ibom states who participated at the event also had similar testimonies to share as this year’s event continues to rally international visitors and exhibitors.
Agrikexpo is also partnered by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Nigeria Agri Business Group (NABG), in line with the current focus on agricultural development in Nigeria, including a showcase for various value added food/beverage products.
In the words of Abubaka Yakubu, the project director, “primary agricultural productivity has a direct nexus with finished products which explains collocation with sister event Foodbext West Africa for processed and packaged products.”
Alabi Lekan, a regular participant, enjoined states to see the forthcoming event as a must do opportunity for them to network with investors for the attraction of investments along the value chains in agriculture.
Various market associations from Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Benin Republic are expected, as food and beverage products manufacturers have continued to support the event because it serves their brand acquisition and increased acquaintance with the target audience.
