Garnering authoritative agric knowledge in 2014 through agro tours
To succeed in the New Year, agro-entrepreneurs need to take stock and make projections early enough in the year.
Olufunke Taiwo, chief executive, Hadur Travel and Tours, pioneer in agro study tours in Nigeria says, “No matter the gains or the losses of the previous year, business operators especially agro-entrepreneurs need to start fresh and early to get their businesses moving in the direction they really want.
Whether already established or just starting out, people need to open themselves up to the new possibilities that keep evolving in the field of agribusiness which have potentials to make operators make more money.”
She adds, “Setting goals provides clarity and direction in our lives and businesses and for those with investment interests in agriculture.this can be achieved by going on an agricultural tour.”
Chuks Mbaegbu was recently on an agro tour organised by Hadur Travel and Tours to Songhai Farm in Benin Republic. He says “Of all the short courses/training I have had in life, I make bold to say that my October 2013 training on poultry in Songhai has been the most rewarding.
The training which was over 90 percent practical was not only precise, but also enough to prepare me to run my own poultry farm. I now run a medium -size poultry farm independently, a farm which I started just two weeks after I came back from the Songhai training. No doubt the Songhai centre is a big blessing to Africa.”
Onisile Adebayo was also recently on an agro-tour by Hadur Travel and Tours. He says, “My visit to Songhai Farm Centre in Benin Republic has changed my thinking, I have come to realise how great resources are being allowed to waste which could have been turned into great fortune.”
Olughor Blessing Onoboye, also an agro-tourist says, “The tour to Songhai made me to know more things about plant and animals and their potentials for wealth creation.”
Another agro-tourist, Caleb-Wakama Gogbo says “It is an eye opener and I recommend every serious farmer to visit Songhai farm.”
Piwuna Comfort, a commissioner in Plateau says says, “Every African who can afford it should visit Songhai to see, learn and replicate the wealth creation techniques in farming and related businesses.”
Patrick D Lawam, also an agro tourist from Plateau state says, “This is to confirm that this tour will be of much benefit to me and our people in the long run.”
Taiwo, the Hadur CEO further says, “One very important thing people need is exposure in order to realise their goals.
Our goal at Hadur Travel and Tours in 2014 is to make every farmer understand why they need to go on an agro tour for their business growth and expansion, so we have planned another agro-study tour to Songhai Farm in Benin Republic and will be having several other agro tours in 2014 so people earnestly interested in gaining practical experience in agribusiness can do so affordably.” She advised, “So as the year draws to an end, do not feel pressured to make resolutions because you feel you should.
Try to set realistic expectations. You will be amazed at what you will be able to achieve!”
