Kano to host conference on National Council of Agriculture

Kano State Government will host the forthcoming conference on National Council on Agriculture scheduled to hold between Feb. 8 and Feb. 12, the state’s Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr Nasiru Gawuna,  said on Tuesday.

Dr. Gawuna said the local Organising committee has been set up by the government to ensure the success of the event.

He said stakeholders from the 36 states and FCT as well as participants from outside the country are expected to attend the conference.

“The state government has gone ahead in the preparation for the event and it has met with the delegation from the Federal Government which came to the state.

“Government has also approved the places where the event will take place and various committees have been set up to work out modalities for the success of occasion, “ he said.

Gawuna said during the conference stakeholders are expected to present position papers on agricultural policies for the development of the sector.

“During the conference, stakeholders will present document and policies which will be adopted this year for the development of agriculture in the country, “ he said.
