Katsina spends N8.4bn on water supply
Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State on Tuesday said the state government had spent N8.4 billion on the provision of water supply in the past eight years.
Shema said this in Mai’adua, Mai’adua Local Government Area of the state, while commissioning a semi-urban water scheme.
He said the state government had given the provision of water supply a top priority.
Shema said the state government had repaired 27 semi-urban water schemes, established 18 motorised boreholes during the period under review.
He said the state government had given special attention to provision of clean water to the people as part of initiatives to guard against outbreak of water borne diseases.
