NACC 2015 trade mission focuses on agri, health, ICT, others

The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) has said it will focus on agriculture/agri cultural equipment, ICT/ telecoms, healthcare and financial services in the upcoming 2015 trade mission. Other sectors of focus of the trade mission which would commence April 18, 2015 and end May 2, 2015, are construction, logistics and power (renewable energy). Biennially, NACC under takes a trade mission to the United States of America to primarily afford members opportunities to connect with potential partners in the US. It is equally a window to seal up good business deals with US companies. Olabintan Famutimi, president of the chamber, said the trade mission offers the chamber the opportunity to reach out to Diaspora Nigerian offices in Houston. He added that the chamber has established chapter in the US that will exist as focal point of its activities. Famutimi noted that since inception of the chamber 54 years ago, America is the biggest investor in Nigeria specifically in the area of oil and gas and service industry. The 2015 trade mission would feature a robust and valued business networking days across states/cities like Washington DC, Chicago and Atlanta, where the chamber will be hosting, for the first time, the prestigious NACC award/ gala nite event. “Our goal is to initiate, encourage and consummate valuable and sustain- able business-to-business (B2B) meetings engag ments and partnership networking opportunities capable of culminating in bringing both direct and indirect foreign in- vestments, into our great country and for the rank and file of our membership in the aforementioned sectors as well as other ones of interest that could be encouraged”, he said at a press conference in Lagos. According to him, the chamber is working to broaden the market for Nigerian products in America. The chamber plans to depart April 17, 2015 with about 40 delegates that cut across sectors. Kingsley Ozibia, chair- man, sponsorship and award for 2015 NACC award/gala nite event, explained that the award is for both Nigerians and Americans doing business in Nigeria. The award is categorised into commerce and industry, leadership, sports, media, culture and entertainment, among others.
