Rice Production: AFAN, stakeholders seek sustainable intervention

Members of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and stakeholders in rice production have called for sustainable intervention by relevant government agencies to boost rice production in the country.

They expressed their opinion in a survey conducted by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in the South-South Geo-political zone on sustainable ways to boost production.

Similarly, the Cross River Government, said it is building a rice city in addition to the acquisition of 10,000 hectares of farmland to plant rice.

Mohammed Abdullahi, Edo North Coordinator, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) urged the Federal Government to build modern rice mill processing plants across the country to boost rice production.
