Manufacturers urge FG to intensify efforts on security challenges
The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ogun chapter, on Tuesday appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity in the nation.
Wale Adegbite, Ogun MAN president, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, that insecurity had hindered the distribution of manufacturers’ goods to the northern part of the country.
Adegbite said the continuous insurgency in the part of the country had made business unattractive to both foreign investors and Nigerians in the Diaspora.
“The insecurity challenge has affected the profit margin of manufacturers negatively and this is not good for an economy that wants to achieve sustainable growth,’’ he said.
The MAN president urged the government to provide an enabling environment where business would thrive without fear or apprehension.
Adegbite said that the inability of the government to address insurgency in the nation would likely lead to loss of investors’ confidence and retard economic growth.
