Pakistan post issues special postage stamp
The Pakistan Postal Services has unveiled a commemorative postage stamp marking the historic visit of President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain, to Nigeria from June 10 to 13, 2014.
The visit culminated in the signing of various MoUs and agreements in the areas of agricultural and industrial cooperation, cultural exchange programmes, narcotics, and deepening of (businessman to businessman) B-2-B contact between chambers of commerce of both countries.
Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, state minister for Pakistan Postal Services, Islamabad, lauded the efforts of Ambassador Dauda Danladi in boosting trade between Nigeria and Pakistan which has led to a rise in trade volume from $100 million to $2 billion since 2012.
With the issuance of special postage stamp set to go a long way to further deepen bilateral trade and investment scale between Nigeria and Pakistan, Haideri appreciated the commemorative postage stamp designed by I.O.A. Omomolesho as it depicts fruitful bilateral trade activities between Pakistan and Nigeria, a diplomatic relations that was established in 1960.
According to Haideri, “During the visit, President Hussain inaugurated the commercial office in Lagos to promote and enhance trade links between Nigeria and Pakistan.
