Schools resume October 6 in Oyo

Secondary and primary schools in Oyo State will resume on October 6, 2014. According to a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government and signed by Olalekan Alli, the resumption date affects all public and private schools in the state. According to him, government had made adequate preparations for the resumption of schools following the incidences of Ebola virus disease in Lagos and Rivers states. The statement urged parents and guardians to instill the need for environmental and personal hygiene into their wards as the schools resume. Nigeria’s Ministry of Education has slated September 22 for schools to resume after it said it had got clearance from the Ministry of Health over incidences of Ebola virus in the country.
