The Kaduna state Chapter of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Gidan Waya, has suspended its six-month old strike

The Kaduna state Chapter of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Gidan Waya, has suspended its six-month old strike, a statement signed by the union leaders has said.

The union embarked on an indefinite strike in January asking the state government to pay its members 20 per cent of Consolidated Tertiary Institution Salary Structure (CONTISS).

However, the statement said the decision to suspend the strike followed an “understanding” reached between the union and the state government.
