United Kingdom requires ‘Fresh Leadership,’ says Cameron
Prime Minister David Cameron will step down within three months after U.K. voters rejected his pitch for continued membership of the European Union, he said outside Downing Street.
Cameron said a successor should be in place by time of the Conservative Party conference in September, Bloomberg News reports.
The prime minister spoke as stock markets fell sharply in response to the Brexit vote, and European officials began making plans to meet and discuss the impact of the U.K. decision.
