Cybersecurity experts converge against cybercrime
In recognition of the threat posed by growing cyber crimes around the world for the Nigerian economy, experts in cybersecurity are set to address the problem and proffer solutions to cyber security issues.
The CyberXchange Conference 2016, which is being organised by international security company, RSA in partnership with CyberXchange 2016, is taking place at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.
In a statement to BusinessDay, the organisers noted that CyberXchange is aimed at updating professionals in the industry on security trends that will enhance protection for companies and clients’ most valuable assets.
Selected topics for the two day conference were carefully chosen and will be discussed by global industry leaders in technology, IT audit, IT risk, cybersecurity professionals in finance and banking, ecommerce, digital media, telecommunications, oil and gas and government.
According to Hashim Zein, resident conference consultant, “The CyberXchange Conference 2016 is part of our effort to aggregate the views of information security stakeholders and drive its practical applications.
“There will also be a Hackathon session at the conference, which is aimed at developing the capacity of budding information security professionals.”
There will be workshops available for the two days, for practical ready-to-use training IT security professionals and a unique master-class for chief executives to get a handle on cyber security at their organisations.
Holly Rollo, chief marketing officer at RSA Security said the company was delighted with its partnership because as a security company, it understands “that the worst time to build a breach communication plan is while the breach is happening.
“Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. The more systems we secure, the more secured we all are. Therefore, we hope that as a result of this conference, West Africa’s information technology sphere will be more developed.”
