Airtel excites Nigerians with ‘5 days of love’ Christmas initiative
Leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, in partnership with UAC, through its popular franchise, Mr. Biggs, rolled out the drums yesterday in celebration of Yuletide season as they fed over 2,000 Lagosians at Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos.
The party, which was held to uplift, encourage, inspire and share with indigent people, was part of activities for day one of Airtel ‘5 Days of Love’ Christmas programme
Through the initiative, Airtel says it is sharing the reason for the season – love – and celebrating with the underprivileged by providing quality, hot meals amidst a thrilling atmosphere of fun, good entertainment and love.
The telco also noted that it is committed to touching the lives of underprivileged persons in the society as well as empowering stakeholders in the communities where it operates.
The 2018 ‘5 Days of Love’ train moved to Sokoto at the Sultan Mosque, Opposite Sultan Palace, Sokoto, on Tuesday, 11th December.
On Wednesday, 12th December, over 1,000 underprivileged persons will be fed at the Gyadi Primary School, Kano while the Sango Tipper Garage, Ibadan and Isaac Boro Park, Port Harcourt will also host the Airtel ‘Five Days of Love’ goodie train on Thursday, 13th December and Friday, 14th December, respectively.
Beneficiaries from the programme commended Airtel for the initiative.
“Today I didn’t think I was going to get free food until I saw Airtel setting up. I, then, asked and I was told Airtel was feeding everyone. I was so happy. Thank you Airtel for giving us food to eat,’ Mr. Tolu, a Lagosian and beneficiary said.
Miss Falila also appreciated Airtel for providing good food for her and her daughter. “God bless Airtel for giving me and my baby food today, Thank you Airtel for touching our lives,” she said.
The event was anchored by popular comedian, Hyenana, who kept thrilling guests with jokes. It also featured dance performances and music.
The ‘5 Days of Love’ CSR initiative is part of Airtel’s Employee Volunteer Scheme (EVS), a platform created to assist underprivileged.
