Carmax Autocare Centre launches ‘Autoguard’

As June 30 deadline for final take-off of the new automotive policy on July 1 draws nearer, the new pronouncement has continued to draw divergent views in many quarters.

While a school of thought believes that the current move by government will help create jobs, return Nigeria to its glorious days of automotive assembly and give the buying public opportunity to drive brand new cars, another school of thought is of the opinion that life will be made more difficult for the citizenry to acquire new vehicles.

But while this argument rages on, one automobile repair and service company located in Ikeja is thinking ahead on how to make prospective car owners both individual and corporate maintain and preserve the fleet in their possession.

In an effort to make car repairs and maintenance seamless for organisations and individual vehicle owners, Carmax Autocare Centre, a professional autocare company has introduced ‘Carmax Autoguard’ to the automobile market.

The product, according to the company, will make it easier for car owners and organisations to manage the maintenance and repair cost of their cars all year round. Explaining how the product works, Andrew Ogunlana, the managing director, Carmax Autocare Centre, said the product is designed to give individual car owners and organisations the desired peace of mind on their vehicles.

He said the product requires the client to pay one price for 365-days of coverage and ‘Carmax Package’ will provide all servicing, preventive maintenance and repairs including all parts and labour for the car throughout the period. To determine the Autoguard cost of a vehicle, all that is needed is the vehicle’s year of make; model and Carmax company will be able to calculate the price to be paid for the cover.

He said the purchase of a vehicle is an important investment and like any investment, it should be protected. With ‘Carmax Autoguard’, the car gets the manufacturer’s suggested servicing and preventive maintenance as at when due, faulty parts are replaced with original parts and when the car goes faulty, it is promptly repaired.

All of these may happen at different times within the year but the client would have paid the agreed amount only once. He expressed optimism that package will help individuals and organisations plan better car repair costs as the plan already covers the cost of any problem the vehicle may have.

The company boss said the product is similar to an insurance policy but unlike insurance policy, it is certain that the car owners will enjoy the benefit of the product. He said while insured vehicles may not suffer any related loss, it is certain that with Autoguard, the car will need to be serviced and some repairs carried out on the vehicles during the 365-day period.

The offer covers all oil services for the year, preventive maintenance checks and correction, cost of all repairs including all scheduled parts and labour, premium carwash on every visit to the workshop, priority service schedule, pick up and drop off services, breakdown assistance and vehicle recovery within the state.
