MyMotoXE vehicle service providers enters Nigeria Q1 2016

Succour and peace of mind will come to corporate fleet operators and individual car owners in Nigeria as MyMotoXE, a brand of Rivermews Limited, owners of Mymotoshield package ‘tightens up its bolts and nuts’ in partnership with Cornerstone Insurance plc to provide periodic vehicle maintenance service to the motoring public from the first quarter of 2016
By simple definition, Mymotoshield is a Vehicle Repair Contract (VRC) or extended warranty that covers the cost of parts and repair services related to a pre-aged set of vehicle mechanical and electrical vehicle components that may stop working in the normal course of use.
Snippets to this piece of good news were made known to the motoring journalists in Lagos by Wole Onasanya, managing director and chief executive MyMotoXE. He disclosed that when Mymotoshield package is finally unwrapped to the public domain, it can be applied to a vehicle that is already in use or considered when someone is purchasing a brand new vehicle from select auto dealerships to provide peace of mind of vehicle purchased.
The total number of major and sub components covered range from about 300 to over 700, depending on the product bundle purchased. Covered items under engine components are piston, crankshaft, valves, for electrical components and motors are the alternator, starter, window motor, wiper motor and transmission components.
Under the suspension and steering components, areas like the shock absorbers, struts, tie rod and steering pump are taken undertaken, whereas the condenser, compressor, brain box, sensors, radiator, water pump are covered under A/C components, hi-tech and engine cooling components. For the drive shaft, brake and fuel delivery segments, such components like CV shaft, propeller shaft, ABS booster, brake callipers, injector and pump are covered.
MyMotoShield does not cover repairs arising from accidents as these are covered under vehicle insurance from an insurance company. It does not also cover scheduled service items such as oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, brake pads, wiper blades, fan belts etc. Other areas not covered by the package include body and structural repairs to the vehicle like car seats, dashboard, and interior and exterior body panels.
Described as very affordable, Wole Onasanya said that when the product becomes available for sale, customers will be able to purchase it from the company’s website, select auto dealerships and other distribution channels like banks and insurance brokers. He advised customers to visit the website to learn more about the product and see product bundles and prices.
Fielding questions on segmentation, categorisation and cost of the bundle, Onasanya stated that a 12-month VRC (Vehicle Repair Contract) is very affordable depending on the vehicle make, model, year, mileage, how the vehicle will be used (personal vs commercial) and the number of components covered (product bundle purchased).
In what appears to be words of assurances, Onasanya said, ‘’we utilise high quality parts manufactured by reputable brands and provide a warranty of 6 months/6000 kilometers on all replacement parts used. If parts fail during this period, we will replace it at zero cost to the customer. We also provide warranty on labour to ensure that repairs are performed to the highest quality.”
Present at the briefing are Toyin Ajomale, chief technical officer and Dayo Adebowale, Customer Case Officer, all of MyMotoXE, Toks Bello, executive director, business development, Jide Olanokun, head e-business of Cornerstone Insurance plc and Adenike Nubi, business manager with Stanley Chima, profit center manager, United Bank for Africa plc.
