Nissan Rogue under recall over fuel pump issues

The Nissan Rogue is the subject of a recall weeks after the company has issues with the fuel pumps in the United States. Owners of the Nissan Rogue will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of a problem with the fuel pumps. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this decision has been made after the improper nickel plating components found in the fuel pump may lead to it failing and increasing the risk of a crash if the engine will stall.

“Improper nickel plating of components within the fuel pump may result in the fuel pump failing. If the fuel pump fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash”, said the NHTSA in its recall summary of the problem.

The affected Nissan Rogue vehicles were produced between the 11th of June, 2013, and the 7th of June, 2014. Owners of these vehicles will be notified by the car manufacturer soon and the company’s dealers will be inspecting the cars and replacing the fuel pumps, free of charge. The recall commenced this month.
