Outgoing Lagos governor declares Lagos Motorfair open
In what appears to be his last appearance attending Lagos Motorfairs in the past eight years, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, of Lagos State is expected to lead other dignitaries from the public and private sectors to declare the 10th edition of the Lagos Motor Fair & 4th Autoparts Expo Nigeria, open tomorrow.
The automobile exhibition which kicks off on Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, will parade over 100 companies from Nigeria and abroad, so said organisers of the annual event.
Ifeanyi Agwu, chairman of the organising committee of the fair said that the event which is organized by BKG Exhibitions Limited of Nigeria and SENEXPO International Fairs Inc of Istanbul, Turkey being declared open by the Governor underscores the seriousness of the Lagos State government in encouraging and supporting all good efforts geared towards developing the automotive industry in Nigeria.
Agwu, the Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Limited, noted that the presence of the state government will go a long way in reinforcing the aims and objectives of the show which is fast tracking the development of the auto sector of in Nigeria.
He added that the governor’s presence would give the needed encouragement and boost to existing and potential investors in the industry. He maintained that the Lagos Motor Fair remains the unparalleled gathering of established brands as well as new entrants, ranging from passenger busses, cars, trucks, spare parts, accessories, lubricants, financials and many more.
He said the importance of continuously staging the show cannot be over-emphasized as all hands must be on deck to promote and support investments into the sector, as it occupies a strategic position in enhancing the economic development of Nigeria.
