Porsche mildly refreshes Macan for 2016

The compact crossover from the German luxury automaker has just been offered in a new variant called the GTS and the company has also decided to infuse some minor alterations to keep it fresh for the coming year.
The Stuttgart-based premium carmaker has announced that all versions of the Macan will use as standard equipment an updated version of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system.
It comes now with a seven-inch high-resolution touchscreen display that accepts multi-touch gestures and also has Bluetooth, USB, SD, Wi-Fi hotspot and compatibility with Apple’s CarPlay. The tweaks include the addition of full LED cornering headlights that make use of a camera-based dynamic main beam function (for best driving assistance during the night) to the optional Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus).
The system can also use navigation data from the PCM to activate additional illumination when for example approaching an intersection in the city.
As for the top grade Macan Turbo, new packages have certain design modifications for the exterior and cabin. Inside, occupants would see an enhanced Alcantara kit with contrast stitching, Turbo embroidery illuminated door sill plates and Rhodium Silver or Garnet Red decorative stitching around the cabin.
The exterior kit has bi-color 21-inch wheels taken from the 911 Turbo, Sport Design side mirrors, black tailpipes and smoked taillights among other tweaks. For the entire range the 2016 Macan comes with new body hues an optional Alcantara-trimmed heated steering wheel, as well as new design options for the cabin such as contrasting stitching or painted central panels of the seats.
