Quick Lane Tyre, Auto Centre launched In Uganda

Ford Motor Company (FMC) and CMC Motors Group, the sole distributor of Ford in Uganda, have opened a Quick Lane Tyre and Auto Centre in the capital city of Kampala, in order to expand its footprint and improve the service offering to customers.
Quick Lane centres are an initiative of Ford Motor Company, with facilities that offer motorists the option of having professional maintenance performed for minor service items in the shortest time possible and regardless of their vehicle’s brand.
The services offered include oil and filter changes, battery replacement, fitment of new brake pads and drive belts, as well as electronic diagnostics. The outlet can also fit and rotate tyres, perform wheel alignment, and replace shock absorbers.
“The Quick Lane Tyre and Auto Centre concept has proved extremely successful in several other Sub Saharan Africa countries since we introduced them in 2011” said Rob Johnston, regional manager, Ford Customer Services Division for sub-Saharan Africa.
Ron Johnson disclosed that with CMC Motors Group, Ford is expanding its footprint in Uganda and giving fleet and retail customers improved access to high-quality service centres and workmanship.”
In addition to Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mauritius, Madagascar and Angola also have Quick Lane centres to service clients in those markets. Ford said it will continue building on the success of Quick Lanes in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA).
Currently, 10 new Quick Lane centres are planned to open their doors over the next 12 to 24 months. These will be located in strategic locations across SSA, to meet the after-sales needs of Ford’s customer base.
Ford announced last year that it is bringing 25 new vehicles to Middle East and African markets by 2016 as part of its aggressive expansion plans in its newest business unit, Middle East and Africa (MEA). Spanning Saudi Arabia to South Africa, and Nigeria to Madagascar, Ford’s new MEA unit is comprised of 67 markets.
The models are products of the ‘One Ford’ plan and include SUVs, trucks, and passenger cars that boast high-quality construction, safety, and modern technologies. Ford’s MEA business unit underscores Ford’s commitment to customers in a region where Ford sales have grown significantly in the past four years.
To take advantage of growth opportunities, Ford has combined the four regions of North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, South Africa and the Middle East into a single business unit, with all sales, share and financial reporting consolidated for the 67 Ford markets. The Ford MEA operation which is Ford’s fifth global business unit is headquartered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
To attain that dedicated focus and support the diversity of the markets, Ford Middle East and Africa is being managed in two sub-regions – South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East and North Africa. While regional operations are headquartered in Dubai, Ford maintains regional offices in both South Africa and Dubai.
