We have Mercedes trucks for every need- Weststar

The local automotive market has specific requirements to suit its peculiar distance, road and geographical conditions and in order to cater for these extreme conditions, Weststar Associates, franchisees of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Nigeria, said it has in its dealership across the country to meet the harshest operating conditions and geographical terrain in the country.

Weststar says Mercedes-Benz trucks are not the typical vehicles. They have been carefully engineered to deliver years and miles of dependable service. Furthermore, for special applications like tippers, firefighting, rescue and construction vehicles, these trucks are built in close collaboration with various approved body-builders.

Weststar, taking into account Nigeria’s poor fuel quality, tropical climate, dust and bad roads, offers sales and after-sales services of the Actros, Axor and Atego. These trucks are particularly engineered and designed to accommodate the needs and demands when it comes to transportation of food, commodities, fuel, and construction materials.

Some of the truck models are Actros, Axor and Atego. The Actros utilizes either the OM501 LA (V6) or OM502 LA (V8) engine with outputs ranging between 230 and 390Kw, depending on the transport task.

The Atego embodies classic characteristics of versatility, strength, safety, reliability, comfort and economy, thanks to a combination of state-of-the-art technologies. It meets the demands placed on trucks in regional and local operations with larger choices of cabs, dashboards, engines and power classes than any other competitor. The Euro 2 engine, with an output of 125 to 206KW, facilitates the economy of fuel and the gross weight rating is from 6t to 16t.

Axor is designed for maximum economy function- thanks to lower kerb weight. Due to smaller and lighter cabs, it offers a payload of up to 700kg more than the Actros. It has a 6-cylinder Euro 3 inline engine with 170 to 335 KW and a single-ratio rear axle, thereby enabling high torque while keeping fuel consumption low.

Both Actros, Axor, Atego have been unwavering in maintaining the age old tradition of quality and longevity. These trucks have remarkable operating economy and high levels of safety for the driver, road users, as well as the vehicles and cargoes.

This is a proven fact from the ever-growing Mercedes-Benz trucks fleet in major hauling and construction companies across Nigeria. They have unbeatable durability, quality, and reliability coming from a century of unparalleled research and development thereby earning them the stamp ‘Trucks You Can Trust’.
