General hospitals to become specialist hospitals
Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra state has said that the three General Hospitals in the state will be upgraded to specialist hospitals.
The hospitals are located in the three Senatorial zones — Ekwulobia, Onitsha and Enugwu-Ukwu.
Obiano announced this during a political rally at Abagana, Headquarters of Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA) on Wednesday.
He explained that the upgrade was to enable the hospitals to offer equal health services; they were among hospitals pencilled down for the health insurance scheme.
“Njikoka had benefited immensely from my administration in various ways, such as appointment, infrastructure and other capital projects.
“Apart from all the major roads we have completed; next year we will commence the construction of inner roads across the communities in the LGA.
“Those roads have been designed and factored in the 2018 budget,” governor added.
A member Board of Trustees in APGA, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka described APGA as “Spirit and Movement that drives the vision and mission of the state’’.
Ezeonwuka called on well-meaning individuals to embrace APGA and express their support to Obiano for continuity.
The Member representing Njikoka 1 constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Timothy Ifedioramma noted that the governor sustained the tempo of the state’s economy, in spite of economic crunch.
