Hygeia holds Abuja confab to improve Nigeria’s healthcare delivery
Hygeia, Nigeria’s foremost Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) has held its annual providers conference in company of some of its partners in Abuja to boost healthcare delivery in the country.
The conference was also stirred towards creating an open platform for feedback from its stakeholders and healthcare service providers in the country’s federal capital territory and its environs.
In his opening speech, Obinnia Abajue, CEO, Hygeia HMO, , reassured providers of its commitment to growing a mutually beneficial relationship built on integrity, fair pricing, convenience and transparency.
He went on to state that Hygeia’s investment will be increasingly directed at supporting efficiency of its healthcare service partners while giving its customers a great experience at every point of contact with the brand. Abajue further spoke about the organisations newly introduced USSD platform with the code *322*9999*1#, a new innovative platform used by hospitals and medical facilities to identify beneficiaries, ensure easier verification of enrollees as well as guarantee transparency and convenience purpose.
In his closing remarks, the CEO reminded healthcare providers that its customer are very valuable to the organization, hence the need for their customers to be given special treatment every time they walk into any hospital, stating that the HMO is dedicated to growing the market by increasing affordability and matching affordability to various categories of hospitals.
Given the strength of Hygeia’s relationship with its stakeholders and providers, it has forged beneficial partnerships with organizations like Mpharma to enable hospitals gain access to medication at cheaper rates and reduce the need for capital injection to finance drug inventories.
One of its partners Medical Credit Fund supports quality healthcare services and Tremendoc is a technology partner that provides a technology platform that allows doctors-patient interaction without need for face-to-face physical engagement, which allows access to care from the comfort of smartphones.
The Providers’ Conference is an annual stakeholder summit held across Nigeria aimed at fostering the relationship with Hygeia medical partners and aligning strategies to deliver best in class medical care.
