Impact hub Lagos drives narrative on good health, well-being

Impact Hub Lagos recently anchored the Impact Hub global mash up event at their world class Hub in Ikoyi, Lagos. The Impact Hub Global Mash-Up was a dialogue event intended to drive the narrative on partnership for the SDGs; with a focus on the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal (Good health and well-being)

The event was designed to focus on the entrepreneur’s health and well-being. Key leaders in the health space- locally and internationally led and attended the discussions on ways to drive partnerships for this intended goal. The Impact Hub Global Mash-Up was held physically at 9 impact hubs around the world with over 9000 members in attendance across different locations.

The event kicked off with an opening remark by Solape Hammond (co-founder Impact Hub Lagos) . Solape enlightened participants on the realities of our society and the activities Impact Hub Lagos is currently engaging in to help develop and empower the health ecosystem. She urged attendees to listen, learn and take action in making real impact in their various communities.

The event itinerary included an entrepreneurial showcase by leading healthcare entrepreneurs who showcased various innovative solutions for combating major problems faced within healthcare systems in Nigeria. The showcase included: Ezinne- Founder Avon HMO enlightening the community on the flexible health insurance plans AVON offers. Others include Yetunde Ayo-Oyalowo, Founder Market Doctor,  Tunji Olowookere- Founder Vegetables Hub.

The showcase was followed by a highly educating and enlightening panel session – focused on creating sustainable partnerships between private and public sector healthcare providers. The panel included key ecosystem leaders such as: Bayo Adesanya, Group Head, E-commerce and Digital Transformation of AXA MANSARD, Jeanie Bowen , MD EURA CARE, Ier Ichaver, Executive Director, Sesor,  Abimbola Adebakin, CEO Advantage Health Africa.

The last activity on the itinerary was a keynote speech from Impact Hub Global given by Chrysula Winegar, the Senior Director Communications and Special Initiatives, United States Foundation.

Chrysula spoke in depth on the importance of partnerships in alleviating health problems in 3rd world nations. She further called participants to action by empowering them with the tools, links, resources and information needed to make a change in their communities. This interactive session left attendees feeling not only excited but empowered to take action.

Bolaji Finnih, Co-Founder Impact Hub Lagos, closed off the event by further charging local entrepreneurs to take innovative action. He committed to the Impact Hub Lagos promise of being a springboard for innovators and entrepreneurs looking to make real Impact across Nigeria.
