LUTH resident doctors embark on “indefinite” strike

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Arabia, chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) has begun an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries and allowances of doctors, the association said.

“Our resolution followed the refusal of the hospital management to pay the outstanding three months’ salaries of resident doctors, among others,” Adewale Oba, ARD President, told BusinessDay by phone today.

He said the strike began effectively at about 8:00am Thursday morning and that it “is an indefinite strike because several letters and notices have been given to the management on these delayed salaries.”
