DexLearn upholds online learning as key to ICT penetration
DexLearn, a learning management platform has underscored the need to embrace online learning as one of the potent tools to further deepen Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) penetration in Nigeria.
Adewole Oriade, managing director of Dexnova, the strategic process management company that developed DexLearn, says that technology driven learning offers huge potentials to enhance capabilities and foster the growth of Nigeria’s ICT industry.
He said the concept of online learning management should be the priority of the country in order to compete favorably with other countries in the world, having Nigeria as an epicenter of growth in Africa.
Oriade said that DexLearn is a learning management system that enhances online learning, using ICT as a platform. It is a platform through which people can learn various ICT skills. it is designed for ICT skill acquisition and those who want to sit for professional ICT exams can also use the platform for their studies.
According to him; “anyone who wants to develop themselves without necessarily sitting for information technology (IT) certificate exams can also study with the platform.
“We developed a software learning solution called DexLearn to enhance technology training of individuals and people from corporate organisations. DexLearn LMS is designed in accordance with international standards to compete favorably with any other learning management systems in the world.”
He stated that the online learning system is backed with a reliable technological back up for efficiency. The solution uses relatively low bandwidth connectivity, which of course makes it easy for people to stay longer on the internet, while carrying out researches, and they will pay less for cost of bandwidth.
Benefits of the e-learning platform include cost effectiveness, learning 24/7 anywhere, and easy tacking of progress as well as discreet learning.
Again, it has over 100 soft skills courses as well as professional certification courses such as PMP Exam prep, Prince 2 Exam prep, ITIL, six sigma, scrum study, CBAP/CCBA.
Some of its features include course guide, instructor led, self-paced training, progress tracker, simulated assessments, participants’ discussion forum downloadable training materials participants online interaction among other.
He stated that the learning platform solution has international and local contents, with international standards and people could just log online and get registered.
Oriade stated that the learning management systems that are open to the public are actually developed abroad, but we came up with Dexlearn which is our own management learning system. This came as a result of challenges we have seen in the industry. One of these is the shrinking Nigeria’s economy and the resultant effect is organisations battling with budget for training.
