Business, insurance cannot thrive in an atmosphere of crises
As the nation witnesses crises as result of insurgents by members of the Islamic sect, Boko Harm, a Muslim university don has identified the need for citizens to live in harmony with one another, stating that no nation can grow in anarchy.
To the clerics efforts on development and economic growth would suffer set back when citizens engage in activities that undermine peace and unity of the nation.
Saheed Timehin, guest lecturer who spoke at the maiden edition of the Charted Insurance Institute of Nigeria Ramadan Tafsir held in Lagos preached peace, emphasising the need for citizens to live as neighbours irrespective of their religious and political differences.
“If we must live together, we must be patient, patient to learn and understand each other’s differences, and this is important in our quest for national and economic development.”
According to him, people must be allowed to express their freedom, as freedom of people must be not hindered. Therefore, we must dialogue at any given time by looking at our areas of divergence and convergence. If you look through critically, you will discover that our areas of convergence far outweigh our areas of divergence, and that is why we should see ourselves as one.
