Capital Express target schools offering insurance for CSR
Life specialist underwriting firm, Capital Express Assurance Limited having recently donated and furnished an archives’ building for the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo in Lagos as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) said it’s targeting other schools offering insurance as subject.
The Company‘s CRS focus hinged on human capital empowerment and youth development, said education is critical in achieving a developed society.
Bola Odukale, managing director/CEO of Capital Express Assurance Limited, said the donation was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the organisation towards uplifting the educational sector and development of the Nigerian child.
“Education remains the catalyst that will propel our country to the next level” therefore our company will continue to partner with schools that have embraced insurance as a way of life.”
She maintained that Capital Express Assurance will continue to support schools because “Qualitative and functional education is and will remain the only permanent legacy parents or guardians can pass on to the children to ensure their future.”
Ibok Ete Ibas, flag officer commanding Western Naval Command in his remark at the official commissioning of the building at the school premises, Ojo commended the Management of Capital Express Assurance Limited for the donation, while enjoining the school management to put the facility to judicious use noting that data and records are important to any organisation.
Vivian Ezeoba, wife of the Chief of Naval Staff and national president of the Nigerian Navy Officer’s Wives Association thanked the company for their gesture and foresight in identifying education as an important arm of a redeveloping society.
In a related development, Capital Express Assurance has promoted 50 of its staff cutting across managerial and officers cadre in the organisation. While five of the staff became managers, eight became assistant managers, 20 to senior executive officers while the remaining 17 became officers from the assistant officers’ cadre.
Odukale therefore enjoined the promoted staff to rededicate themselves to duty while urging those who were not promoted during this exercise to work hard as promotion will surely come at the right time.
According to her “the organisation is being restructured to ensure that the customer remains king in all its customer service deliverables.”
She stated that the organisation is committed to becoming the largest life insurance office in Nigeria while maintaining that only a dedicated workforce can make this happen.
