CIIN shops for Insurance College
The College of Insurance and Financial Management (CIFM) established in 2007 by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CllN) is seeking suitably qualified candidates for the position of rector, the CIIN has said.
The rector, who shall be the arrowhead of the institution shall have the responsibility of jump-starting the immediate take-off of academic studies in the institution and shall supervise its general development.
The rector, according to the CIIN will be the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the College and has general responsibility for matters relating to the day-to-day administration of the institution subject to the policy guidelines of the Governing Board of the College. In addition to proven management and leadership experience, the successful candidate must have a demonstrable passion for academic and professional practices.
Wole Adetimehin, president, CIIN who disclosed this during the 2013 Media Retreat for Insurance Journalists said while the issue of academics is major requirement for the rector because they have good leadership and research qualities, emphasis of qualification will be tied to professionalism.
“This is important so that we do not deviate from the focus or turn the institute to a conventional university like LASU or UNILAG,” Adetimehin noted.
