Consolidated Hallmark Insurance appoints new directors
In Compliance with the National Insurance Commission 2009 Code of good corporate governance requiring non –executive directors that have spent nine years in the board to retire, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance plc has appointed six non-executive directors and an executive director.
They have taken over from other directors who have served the company the past years contributing its record success in performance and value creation for shareholders.
The newly appointed directors are Obinna Ekezie as chaiman; Eziaku Obidegwu, director; Andrew Odige, director, Joel Avhurhi, director; Adebola Odukale , director and Ben Onuora, also director. WhileTunde Daramola is the new executive director.
Ekezie, Chairman is the Founder & Managing Director of Wakanow.com . A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland – Robert H. Smith College of Business, Maryland U.S.A Ekezie also has minor degree in IBM Total Quality Management, from same institution. He is a professional basketball player – contributed to the success of Vancouver Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, amongst others. He is also the Founder/Chairman, African Basketball League.
Daramola, executive director is a fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN and Associate , Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria CIIN as well as Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. Immediate past General Manager, Finance and Investment in Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Daramola worked in Exxon Mobil Nigeria on secondment from Glanvill Enthoven & Co.(Nig.) as well as worked at Continental Trust Bank Ltd. (now part of UBA Plc).
He Served as a two-time Chairman of the Accounting Technical Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association and member, Finance and General Purpose Committee of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria.
Daramola holds HND Insurance (Lagos State Polytechnic) and MBA (Finance and Accounting) University of Liverpool (U.K.). He is also Alumnus of the Lagos Business School.
