Egerue, Enterprise Insurance Brokers MD for African capacity report

Paschal Emeka Egerue, Managing Director/CEO of Enterprise Trust Insurance Brokers Ltd has been invited as a distinguished external reference group (ERG) member of the African Capacity Building Foundation for the validation workshop for the foundation’s African Capacity Report (ACR) and strategic planning meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) in ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia holding from September 2-4, 2015.

Egerue’s invitation as stated by the foundation is based on his distinguished professional career and wide ranging experience on Africa’s development issues for which he is expected to provide insights and critical interrogation of the draft report.

The African Capacity report published annually since 2011 measures and empirically assesses capacity in relation to the development agenda in African countries. The report highlights key development and how they can be measured.

Egerue has been a key player in the Nigerian Insurance Industry and was the immediate past Managing Director/CEO of Mainstreet Bank Insurance Brokers (formerly Afribank Insurance Brokers Co. Ltd) before collaborating with other stakeholders to establish Enterprise Trust Insurance Brokers Ltd. Enterprise Trust Insurance Brokers Ltd has as its focus the growth of Africa through Insurance.

Egerue, a multidisciplinary professional beyond his first degree has an M.Sc in Industrial Sociology from University of Ibadan, as well as MBA from University of Lagos.

He is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII) and a fellow of both the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (FCIB and FIIN).

Egerue is an author of three books in Insurance including his seminal book on Oil and Gas Insurance in Nigeria, the market, the money and the controversy. He is also widely published in Insurance journals and the general media. His trail blazing journal article on the challenges of product development in the growth and development of micro-insurance business in Nigeria gave direction that led to the opening and expansion of the micro-insurance business in Nigeria. Consistent with the theme of this year’s ACR report – Capacity Imperatives for Domestic Resource Mobilization in Africa, Egerue sees this invitation as an opportunity to position Insurance as a critical element in resource mobilization for African development.
