Insurance brings Okosieme back to business

People who still do not believe in the benefit of insurance despite great testimonies by numerous beneficiaries should here this. Of course, Victor Okosieme, one of the fire victims and tenant at Great Nigeria House, Lagos who lost his wares in the inferno that engulfed part of the building late last year, having received a cheque of N1.6 million settlements as claim on the fire insurance policy he had with the Great Nigeria Insurance plc is another testimony.

This amount is coming for payment of just N4,000 premium for a fire policy issued by the Insurance Company, while his neighbours who lost their wares as well without insurance cover would have learnt the hard way and now face the challenge of going to look for money elsewhere or go out of business.

The elated Okosieme whose property was destroyed by the fire, bought one of the Company’s eBusiness products; Fire Proof and paid a token N4,000 premium, becoming a cynosure to his friends who were at the cheque presentation ceremony.

At the presentation ceremony which took place on Martins Street, Lagos, Okosieme in the Company of his wife expressed his appreciation for the promptness at which Great Nigeria Insurance plc paid his claim. According to Victor, I am so happy that GNI paid me on time and I can now look forward to starting my life again, all what I thought I have lost, I can now buy back with this money’.

Tunde Lawanson, head of Brand Management of the Company who presented the payment cheque said “Great Nigeria Insurance plc is committed to fulfilling its obligations to its customers. Furthermore ‘our presence here today is a demonstration of this commitment and this delighted customer did not need to have stressed himself further after his loss before the payment of his claim was processed and eventually made by us’.

Julius Uzowum, vice chairman of the Traders’ Association also commended Great Nigeria Insurance plc for the prompt action and encouraged Nigerians to embrace insurance adding that “with the level of integrity shown, this will encourage us to take insurance henceforth.”

Bose Ibesanmi GNI plc’s head, marketing echoed Uzowum’s position and advised Nigerians to embrace Insurance, positing that having insurance will help to restore the loss suffered if it eventually occurs.
