Ogun list conditions for participation in State insurance

In its determination to ensure that risk management remain the priority of the present administration, the State government has called on all insurance companies domiciled in the State to register with the State government in order to do business together.

Adewale Oshinowo, the State Commissioner for Finance, stated this while receiving the team of players from the Insurance Managers Forum in Ogun State, led by Oyewole Babatunde on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Oshinowo pointed out that the State government under the leadership of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, would continue to partner and collaborate with the Insurance Managers Forum in the area of risk management, explaining that Insurance Company intending to do business with the government must follow due process.

He said,  ‘’We insist and still maintain that before you have business to do with us, you must first have your office in Ogun State and that is our take and we still stand by it. Everyone that will have an insurance relationship with us must register first, the moment you are registered with us, we’ll check where your office is in Ogun State that is when we enter into discussion with you.”

Speaking earlier, Oyewole Babatunde, manager, Capital Express Assurance Limited, who doubles as Chairman of the Forum, commended the Governor Ibikunle Amosun in his mission to rebuild the state, saying the purpose of their visit was to seek recognition and how they could partner with government as well as making their impacts felt in the course of the rebuilding mission.

The Manager, NICON Insurance Limited, Bola Olawunmi explained that the forum is ready to contribute its quota to the development of the state, just as he recommended that the State government should patronize Insurance Companies and Brokers that have their offices located in the State.
