Royal Exchange advocates investment in education

Royal Exchange plc has emphasised the need for the nation to invest in education of youths, particularly at the secondary school level, stating that it was a necessary foundation stage for leaders of tomorrow. The firm in advocating this as it continues to sponsor the annual leadership conference for secondary schools in Lagos where prefects are imparted with the virtues of honesty, diligence, hard work and empathy.

Chike Mokwunye, group managing director, Royal Exchange plc, said to make the conference exciting, educative and instructive, a lecture on insurance, inspirational discussions on leadership, attitudinal change and patriotism were included.

The sixth edition of the conference organised in partnership with the Foundation for Youth Education with the theme “Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leader,” attracted over 1,000 students drawn from about 50 post-primary educational institutions in the state.

Mokwunye, who was represented by Auwalu Muktari, Royal Exchange group executive director, emphasised the commitment of Royal Exchange to the development of youth in the country, saying that “At the national level, it is often said that God has blessed this country with abundant resources. All we need is to put the right leaders in place and we can begin the march towards national prosperity.

“No nation can grow or experience prosperity without stability. So, I enjoin you today to continue to show exemplary conducts and to uphold high ethical standards that will make you all good ambassadors of your school and the nation at large,” he stressed.
