Standard Alliance Life out with travel insurance policy

With growing demand for travel insurance cover, particularly to Schengen countries, as well as travel emergencies like ill-health, repatriation, loss of luggage, death and other issues that could make trips difficult, Standard Alliance Life says it has identified a gap.

Consequently, it has developed a product, ValuPlus Travel Insurance policy, which would not only assist clients have a smooth travelling experience, but also give them rest of mind as there would be available medical assistance and hospitalisation in case of emergencies.

Austin Enajemo-Isire, managing director, Standard Alliance Life Limited, who spoke at the media launch of the product in Lagos, said the product was an outcome of the painstaking market survey by their Research and Development (R&D) team which reported the growing demand for the cover by the travel insurance consuming public.

“As a company which constantly believes in meeting the needs of the people, the creation of this product can never be better than now,” he said.

Enajemo-Isire listed the benefits of ValuPlus Travel Insurance policy to include medical emergency and hospitalisation expenses; repatriation cost; repatriation expenses in case the unexpected happens; in case of accident, permanent disability; and cost of recovering lost passport and luggage.

Other benefits, according to him, include corporate cover with special discounts designed for staff; free cover for children under the age of two years; medical cover up to the tune of €30,000; in-house emergency care every day, and cover for permanent total disability up to the tune of €1,000.

“The ValuPlus Travel policy is available for all trips that will be made to Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and all other Schengen countries. It will also be available for all travels that will be made worldwide in the shortest foreseeable future and will be for trip duration not exceeding 90 days,” he said.
