Access trainers to build capacity among fresh graduates
Access Trainers a consulting firm has decided to take up the challenge of preparing university graduates to overcome job hunting hurdles such as CV writing, interviews, and cover letters.
Efosa Ajorgbor, Head of Training and Development, Access Trainers’ disclosed that it has been noticed that fresh graduates have a number of limitations in their quest to get employed irrespective of the grades made in school.
Ajorgbor pointed out that fresh graduate areas of limitation include inability to communicate well, career paths not properly defined, and poor resume writing skills. Also poor preparation for job interviews, which includes a lack of understanding of different interview styles such case study interviews and personality tests.
She said that the upcoming training scheduled for the 21st of March 2015 in Lagos will look to improve participants by adopting an approach that will engage them through: mock job interviews sessions, Taking sample interview test questions, Being tutored on proper dressing, comportment (carriage, posture) that makes for success in interviews.
Ajorgbor further noted that participant attending would be tutored on proper resume writing and cover letters, Being taught about job opening search, reference materials search, internet based job search and career management system skills enhancement; being tutored on interview center recruitment skills; Being taught how to answer study and presentation interview sessions and Learning about the required interpersonal skills required to interact during onsite interview processes.
