Foundation boosts entrepreneurship drive among youths
As part of her developmental drive to create youths that are employers of labour rather than job seekers in Nigeria, Cardoso Catholic Community Foundation through her Women Training Centre recently empowered forty-three students with self sustaining skills.
Ngozi Eguh, director, Cardoso Catholic Community Foundation (CCCF) while speaking at the 40th graduation ceremony of the center in Lagos recently said that education is a potent tool in the emancipation and empowerment of women.
According to her, “The greatest single factor which can incredibly improve the status of women in any society is education”, it is indispensable that it enables women not only to gain more knowledge about the world but helps them to get status, positive self-esteem and self-confidence, necessary courage and inner strength to face challenges in life”.
Eguh further encourages the graduating students to go out to create wealth, empower others and teach them how to acquire skills adding that the foundation would work with them to make Nigeria and the world a better place for all.
Franca Okon, principal, CCWTC says the main focus of the centre is to train individuals to be self-employed, independent and productive. She further said that the school objective is to raise future entrepreneurs starting from the grassroots as such the centre trains individual to acquire several skills.
Uwazuruonye Chidinma, head girl, CCWTC commended the management and teachers of the training center for instilling in them hard work, moral, physical, emotional and disciplines.
“Indeed, we have not only come to learn and achieve academic and creative skills in practical work of arts, but our teachers tried in building us up in mind and development of house-keeping, home management, public speech, manner articulation, neatness, hygiene and manners of creativity for individual development per excellence”, she added.
