HR Avatar, Dragnet partners on pre-employment tests support for SSA organisations
In a bid to deepen it presence across sub-Saharan Africa, HR Avatar, one of America’s most innovative pre-hire testing company has formed a strategic partnership with Dragnet Solutions Limited, Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa’s leading recruitment technologies company to offer testing support to organisations across Sub- Saharan Africa.
With a library of hundreds of animated assessments covering different job functions, HR Avatar Pre-Employment Tests are designed to help companies effectively and objectively evaluate candidates’ job specific knowledge.
Lovelyn Nwadeyi, Dragnet’s manager for international markets, while confirming the partnership recently said HR Avatar employment tests deliver simulated workplace scenarios, Job-candidates interact with animated avatars to complete job-related tasks such as interacting with customers or making recommendations based on multiple sources of data.
According to her, “This is a game changer because it simulates real life scenarios similar to the in-tray exercise of proper assessment centres. It serves also as a function specific test, and feeds into the hiring process in a way that no other tool does. And of course the deployment is not unique to just Nigeria. We are rolling this out in about a dozen African countries for a start.
“Whether this new way of hiring will catch on is yet to be seen, but suffice to say we should be expecting to see it introduced to some of Dragnet’s own clients which from their website and recent aptitude tests includes the likes of Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Agip, Addax, Access Bank, KPMG, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Keystone Bank, Skye Bank, Nestle, Caverton, and many more.
“Of course, interest levels were very high from some of our clients when initial demos were carried out, before we signed the agreement. We have World Class clients on our books and it is not necessarily each new tool that they jump at without being 110 percent certain of its construct validity.
“But if a candidate needs advice I’d say,’ Just be a master of the job you do. If you excel at what you do, you will excel at the test. This is for experienced hires after all.” She said.
Mike Russiello, president and CEO of HR Avatar, on his part expressed delight to work with Dragnet Solutions, “In reference to the new partnership, their fast-growing region demands innovative solutions, and we believe HR Avatar’s tests will help their customers get the people they need to keep up with the growth they are experiencing.
“Plus, because we simulate actual work situations, candidates get a taste of what the real job will be like, so they have a better feel for the job they are being hired for, and they will likely stay in that role longer”, He said.
