‘Nigeria needs to engage individual intellectual capacity to solve socio- economic problems’
David Oyedepo, Chan- cellor of Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State, has declared that Nige- ria could only solve economic problems currently impeding growth and development of her socio-economic life if public and private sectors could engage individual intel- lectual capacity.
Effective networking and engagement of individual in- tellectual capacity, according to the chancellor, are what Nigerians and Nigeria need at this critical period as part of measures to provide home- grown solutions to myriad of her socio-economic problems such as poverty, unemploy- ment, insecurity among others.
Speaking at the Covenant University and Industry Part- nership Luncheon where various products manufac- tured by the university were showcased to interested in- vestors, yesterday, Oyedepo decried the ceaseless brain- drain of Nigerian experts and the intellectual to foreign lands due to insecurity, pov- erty and unemployment.
