Unilag, FCET students urged to focus on academics
The need for Nigerian students to remain focused on their studies so as to remain competitive have one again being reiterated.
Tiwa Savage, an MTN ambassador, made this point during her surprise visit to University of Lagos and Federal College of Education technical, Akoka Lagos recently.
Savage, while addressing the students after visiting them in their hostels, encouraged them to face what they came to the institutions to do and also thanked them for the support they are giving Nigerian musicians.
According to her, “My friends, please always remember what you are here for, face your studies and keep your dream alive. I appreciate all of you for believing in us and also in Nigerian music.”
On their part the students from University of Lagos and Federal College of Education Technical, Akoka Lagos, commended MTN for the unprecedented experience they are getting through the ongoing Season of Surprise Campaign initiated by the company.
Speaking about their experiences, Ugwu Joseph Chinonso, a 300-Level student of Mathematics, University of Lagos, who won an iPhone 6 from the singer thanked MTN for the surprise gesture.
According to him, “I am so excited; this is awesome and absolutely unexpected. Apart from the opportunity to meet Tiwa Savage who happens to be one of my favourite musicians, I am also receiving a surprise gift from her. In fact, MTN has not only surprised me, they have done it beyond my imagination!”.
Shodeinde Afolashade, a student of Agriculture, Federal College of Education, Akoka, Lagos, after receiving a brand new iPhone 6 from the musical act revealed that she have been dreaming of having an iPhone, adding that getting it in a very unpredictable manner is something she least expected. She enjoined MTN to keep up the surprises.
