Abia donates three patrol vans to army
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has donated three patrol vehicles to the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, to assist them in fighting crime in the state.
While handing over the vehicles to the brigade commander, AB Omozoje at the Government House, Umuahia, Ikpeazu appreciated the Nigerian military, the police, navy and other security agencies in the state for their diligence and commitment to duty.
He noted that their activities were responsible for the peace and security being witnessed in the state, pointing out that the fact that people could go about their businesses without molestation was as a result of the commitment and hard work of the security agencies.
According to him, they need prayers for their safety as well as assistance to make their job easier.
The governor stated that those who were on the vanguard of fighting criminality in the state needed to be supported, adding that it was in that vein that the vehicles were given to the army in order to encourage them.
He promised that his administration would do more in the days ahead and appreciated Zenith Bank plc for assisting the state government in its fight against crime through the donation of patrol vans.
He used the forum to warn criminals to stay away from the state as the government was ever determined to now than ever before fight crime and criminals.
In his remark, the commander, 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Omozoje thanked the governor for the support and promised to sustain the fight against crime in the state.
