Airforce begins six-day flying training in Lagos
Nigerian Air Force on Monday began night flying training exercise in Lagos.
The exercise, involving the usage of the C-130 Hercules Aircraft by the Nigerian Air Force and the 201 Heavy Airlift Group, is expected to last from April 18 to 23, starting from 7pm to 11pm daily.
Information made available to the media by Steve Ayorinde, Lagos State commissioner for information and strategy, urges residents of the state not to panic at the exercise, as all precautionary measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the public while the exercise lasts.
Ayorinde alerts that the C-130 Hercules Air craft would fly very low in some locations across the state, but that there was nothing to fear.
“The residents should go about their normal duties because the exercise will be conducted with a very insignificant discomfort. The only unusualness of the exercise is the low flying nature of the aircraft and the increase in noise level, which will be noticed during the six days exercise, only along the training routes,” Ayorinde says.
