Aisha Buhari seeks  Parental protection of girl child from online predators

Aisha Buhari, wife of the President, has harped on the need for parental guidance and commitment  to the protection  of the girl child. This is against the backdrop of increased incidences of online predatory in Nigeria.

Aisha made the disclosure at an event to mark the international day of the Girl Child in ICT on Thursday wherein she urged parents to pay attention to the kind of friends their wards keep as online.

Represented by Senator Binta Garba of Adamawa North Senatorial district, the President’s wife challenged younger girls to explore positive advantages which the online platform presents rather than spend time to engage strangers online.

Aisha said, “There are lots of opportunities in internet which cuts across provision of services, researches among others. Focus on that and not on frivolity.
