Ambode declares open Lagos MSMEs’ fair tomorrow
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will tomorrow declare open the first Lagos Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) exclusive fair.
The fair is organised by the state ministry of commerce, industry and cooperatives with the support of the private sector, to promote small businesses and encourage patronage of local products.
It has as theme “promotion of products of small scale businesses for sustainable employment generation and economic growth.”
According to Rotimi Ogunleye, the commissioner for commerce, industry and cooperatives, the one-week fair starting from May 3 to 8, is in furtherance of the campaign for patronage of Made-In-Lagos goods as against foreign products.
The fair, which holds at the state secretariat auditorium, Alausa, Ogunleye said, would showcase daily workshops and on-hand training, daily clinics with SMEDAN, SON, NAFDAC, FIIRO, LIRS and Bank of Industry.
He noted that the current administration was fully determined to aid the continuing successes of MSMEs in Lagos in recognition of them as engine of economic growth.
