Imo industrialisation: German maintenance engineers received by House speaker

As part of the state government’s efforts to actualise its policy on industrialisation and job creation, Acho Ihim, speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, has received in audience a team of maintenance engineers from Germany.

Leader of the team and CEO of Alfers & Sohn, Nutzfahrzeuge Gmbh, Charles Alpha told the speaker that the engine maintenance and waste management team was in Imo State to contribute to what he called “diagnostics mechanics that can solve the problem of delayed engines and machines repairs for government, industries and individual concerns.”

According to him, his company will also embark on capacity building of Imolites for technicians and artisans in the fields of machines/ engine maintenance, waste management and cramp technology, which contracts large volume wastes to a miniature and manageable volume.

Alfa explained that the over 70-year old firm works with the United Nations Organisation (UNO), World Health Organisation (WHO) among other reputable organisations in the world.

Speaking with the team, the Imo Assembly speaker, Ihim emphasised on the state government’s resolve to ensure the complete industrialisation of the state; assuring that the Legislative arm was prepared to enact and pass of appropriate laws necessary for the purpose.

According to him, Imo State is blessed with abundant human and natural resources coupled with the enabling environment necessary for the smooth operation of profitable industries.

He expressed optimism that thousands of Imolites who are technicians or would want to become one in the area of machines and engines maintenance, repairs, waste recycling and management would soon have great opportunity to a world class training and retraining in the state.
This he said will ultimately lead to an improved productivity and profitability, not only for the state’s economy but also for Nigeria at large.

The speaker explained that sequel to the engines and machines maintenance team’s world class outlook and universal acceptability, Imo would soon have abundant experts in engine maintenance and waste management, as well as have qualified men and women who can work in Germany and in other overseas countries without further training.

The German team were led to Imo by Francis Obidike and also accompanied by Ugochukwu Nzekwe former member for Nkwerre state constituency.
