Kebbi spends N28million to improve power supply
The Kebbi State Government said it had spent N28 million to improve power supply in seven locations in the metropolis.
The General Manager of the state’s Rural Electrification Board, Alhaji Sani Bello, named the benefiting communities as Chardi area, Shafa, Shuni, Tudun Wada, Gesse, Larynx and Adamu Aliero Housing Estate.
Bello said the project included installation of electrical cables/wiring, and provision of three 500KVA transformers to replace old ones to sustain constant power supply.
The general manager said the present administration was committed to providing similar electrification projects to other areas after a survey.
He said the board had concluded arrangements to connect Zuru town with Yauri local government, adding, “we will embark on the project as soon as Yauri Power Substation is completed.’’
Bello said the project would boost power supply as well as end power failure due to overloaded transformers.
