Kingdom Summit holds weekend in Lagos

The Kingdom Summit, a multinational and interdenominational group devoted to promoting the understanding of God’s principles in the marketplace, will hold its annual non-denominational International Economics and Leadership conference in Lagos, October 23 – 25, at The King’s Court, Victoria Island.

The inaugural edition of the conference held in October 2014, at the same venue and featured international Christian business leaders from various countries including the United States of America, Australia, India, South Africa and Nigeria.

This year’s summit titled “Purposeful Capital: Impact and Leadership Responsibility” will feature 36 accomplished speakers from Nigeria and various parts of the world over the three days.

Host of the programme and Pastor of The King’s Court Parish, Ben Akabueze, rationalised the need for the summit thus: “What we find is that a lot of people tend to be different persons in church and the marketplace. Some people tend to live what I call a dichotomised lives and that’s not how God wants it. Our faith in Christianity is supposed to be the way of life; it’s supposed to be who we are and who we are shouldn’t change, whether it’s at home, at work or in church.”

Some of the international speakers, Bret Johnson, Lyn Johnson, and Elaine Tai, all based in the United States, and Natchi Lazarus from India, who paid a visit to the corporate office of BusinessDay at Point Road, Apapa, said the purpose of the summit was on capital, business and leadership; to teach business and leadership capabilities and how to raise and use capital in accordance with God’s words. According to Bret Johnson, “We believe that there are clear principles in the scriptures for business, capital, leadership and for governance, and that when a nation has those principles and apply them to various parts of the society, then the nation is going to be better.

“So, we are here because we want to bless Nigerians and encourage good governance, good stewardship and the implementation, practically from Monday to Friday of eternal truths in the marketplace.”

Participants at the summit, which is free and begins on Friday at 4pm, are expected to register online to guarantee a space.
