Minister calls for tracking of job creation, skills acquisition in Nigeria
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, James Ocholi, has reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to significantly improve job creation and skills acquisition across the country.
Responding to a technical brief given by. Olu Olasode, Group Managing Director, TL First Integrated Management Group, during a courtesy visit at the ministry headquarters in Abuja recently, Ocholi stressed the need to introduce models of vertical integration and inter- government coordination on youth employment initiatives at national, state and local council levels.
Also, he reaffirmed the need for an integrated horizontal tracking of inputs and outcomes of job creation and skills acquisition activities across government, businesses and civil societies.
Throwing light on some of the ministry’s current programmes during the visit, the minister reemphasised the clear leadership being provided by the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, and the drive by the Permanent Secretary, DrClement Illoh, to ensure that the ministry’s mandates and plans are engraved in the hearts and minds of every staff of the ministry.
Olasode thanked the honourable minister for hosting him and expressed willingness to partner with the ministry as an agent of change to promote the Buhari-led change agenda.
