PHCCIMA pushes Rivers economy with business lunch

The upcoming business luncheon with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has been described as a commitment to business and economic excellence.

The president, Emi Membre-Otaji, who said this added that the programme would enrich businesses, promote networking on a broader platform and provide interactive opportunities for sectoral players to key into vistas of economic opportunities.

Membere-Otaji made this assertion while speaking with newsmen concerning the upcoming business and economic event, where he said “Port Harcourt is the best destination to be for corporate bodies, captains of industries, MD/CEOs, government agencies, etc, to take advantage of the top of the bill business event.”

The PHCCIMA Business Luncheon is expected to kick off at 12 noon on Thursday, April 28, at the Main Auditorium of Obi Wali International Conference Centre off Air force Road in Port Harcourt. According to him, this would assemble key players in public and private sectors of the economy including top government officials, captains of major industries in the state and key federal agencies like Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEXIM Bank, Bank of Industry, among other high profile participants from government and the private sector.

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike is billed to be the special guest of honour, with the theme, “Business opportunities in Nigeria; Beyond Oil.”

This shall be delivered by industrial economist, chairman, Phillips Consulting, and former chairman/current director, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Foluso Phillips.

The business luncheon has as it sub theme: “The Ease of Doing Business in Rivers State” which is expected to be presented by Special Adviser to Rivers state Governor on Investment, Isaac Okemini.

The first Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Business Luncheon,  according to PHCCIMA sources, shall provide a veritable platform for the convergence of government and the complex business community on a broader perspective for the purpose of addressing and proffering solutions to current topical and critical economic questions affecting the growth of businesses in Nigeria and Rivers State in particular.

Highlight of the event would include the launching/unveiling of the eagerly awaited, “Commerce Port Harcourt Magazine”. It will witness quality presentations by keynote speakers on topical issues; across sectors interactions which include; business to business networking and government to private sector networking, creating business relationships, sharing business ideas, closing business deals and ending it all with a cocktail and refreshments for participants.
