Port Harcourt International airport ranked world worst airport

Port Harcourt International Airport has been ranked world worst airport in 2015, according to a recent survey reported by a travel website on the guide to Sleeping in Airports.

The survey was conducted to know the world’s worst and best aviation terminals. It attracted 26,297 responses from fliers.

Respondent were asked to judge facilities of airports when they have to sleep over at the airports. The four categories include: comfort, conveniences, cleanliness and customer service.

According to the findings, Port Harcourt International Airport was at the top of the pile because respondents reportedly complained about unpleasant and unhelpful staff, alleged corruption, a severe lack of seating, broken air-conditioning and the fact that the arrival hall was inside a tent.

“The good news is that some areas of the terminal have been recently renovated, meaning you can expect actual walls, floors and windows,” says the travel website. “Though it is a far cry from reasonable, improvements are being made.”

Turning to the airports with the best airport for 2015, Singapore’s Changi International held onto the top spot. A position it has occupied for the last two decades.

“It’s hard to know where to begin when it comes to describing the airport’s strengths,” said Sleeping in Airports.
